Summary: 

Law No. 2015-990 of 6 August 2015 for growth, activity and equal economic opportunities, known as the "Macron Law", is a French law carried on behalf of the Manuel Valls II government by Emmanuel Macron, then Minister for the Economy. Mentioned to the press and at the Council of Ministers on 15 October 2014, the bill was presented to the Council of Ministers on 10 December 2014 and to the National Assembly the following day. The Assembly began examining the law on 26 January 20151. The law was finally adopted on 11 July 2015. According to Emmanuel Macron, the purpose of the law is to "unlock the French economy"; it must solve France's "three diseases": "mistrust", "complexity" and "corporatism" by taking a series of measures modifying a number of existing regulations regarding working conditions in France.
