Summary:
French agriculture and the agri-food and forestry sectors are levers for meeting the challenge of economic, social and environmental competitiveness. The Future Act of October 13, 2014 aims to set the sector's strategic directions until 2025. The law focuses on:
1. The economic and environmental performance of agricultural and agri-food sectors;
2. The protection of natural, agricultural and forest areas and the renewal of generations;
3. Food policy and health performance, and
4. Agricultural and forestry education, training and development.

In France, 3 out of 4 farmers belong to at least one agricultural cooperative, and 40% of the agri-food sector's activity is in the cooperative sector.
4. Regardind the training, the French Agricultural Ministry is dedicated to technical and higher education in agriculture, and to research and development in the agronomic, forestry and veterinary fields. It meets the following objectives:
- update the missions of agricultural education and agronomic and veterinary research establishments;
- contribute to the development of agro-ecology;
