Description:

In order to shed light on the current partial and fragmented picture of blockchain applications in the agri-food sector, 13 partners from 7 EU countries and 1 third country came together to support the strategic joint research agenda on blockchain and clarifying the advantages and opportunities that BCT (Blockchain Technology) can concretely offer to stakeholders along the entire food chain. The TRUSTyFOOD project, started on 13 July 2022 in Milan with the Kick Off Meeting, intends to pave the way for R&I activities for the coming decade, basing its assumptions on a systematic monitoring and review of pilot projects/use cases, national, European and international R&I experiences and best practices. The objective of the proposal is to understand why the communities, i.e. the users, accept/reject projects based on the blockchain, what were and are the mistakes made by others in order not to repeat them, the best innovative practices of blockchain development in the agri-food sector (considering the its complexity) to arrive at shaping different possible future scenarios for the BCT application.
