The Ministry was established in the 1946 and it has the following organizational structure: Department for the Coordination of European and International Policies and Rural Development (DIPEISR - divided into three Directorates General), Department for Competitive Policies, Agri-food Quality, Fisheries and Horseracing (DIQPAI - divided into three Directorates General), Department of the Central Inspectorate for the Protection of Quality and Fraud Repression of Agri-Food Products (ICQRF - divided into two Directorates General), Carabinieri Forestry, Environmental and Agri-Food Units Command (CUFAA), Maritime Fisheries Department of the Harbour Office Corps.
