“Renewable Resources” Funding Programme

The redesigned Renewable Resources Funding Programme provides the basis for the continuation of the successful support provided by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) in the area of renewable resources. The programme currently receives aorund 85 million euros from the federal budget. The BMEL has commissioned the Agency for Renewable Resources (FNR), Hofplatz 1, D-18276 Gülzow, as the organisation to manage the project. The new programme for funding, development and demonstration measures in the area of renewable resources was published on 7 May 2015 and replaces the funding programme of the same name which had been in place since 2008. Examples of specific funding priorities include: Sustainable management of electricity sourced from biomaterial in order to secure an optimum supply of biogenic resources for production and processing facilities Development of strategies for the sustainable production and use of renewable resources, paying particular attention to water Local production of recyclable materials in aquatic systems, e.g. with algae, cyanobacteria or aquatic plants in order to broaden the resource base Provision of information as well as social dialogue on the bioeconomy and sustainability.
