Description:
Tufts’ Food Compass was developed as a food product scoring system to assess the healthfulness of foods, beverages, and mixed dishes, as well as food choices, such as supermarket baskets, diets, and food company portfolios.
By evaluating foods across 9 domains and using a unique algorithm to determine a score, we can assign a Food Compass Score (FCS) between 1 and 100 (with 100 being the most healthful) to nearly any food.
These scores could be used in numerous ways, including internally by food manufacturers to improve formulations or by consumers to inform food choices.
