SEAFOOD TOMORROW, financed by Horizon 2020, was a EU project aiming at developping innovative and sustainable solutions to improve safety of EU sea products, as well as their nutritional properties. The partnership faced many challenges, such as food safety and sustainability, and found out innovative solutions for fishery and environmental issued linked to it. Moreover, the consortium worked on agromarine by-products to develop sustainable food for acquaculture to enable the production to tailo-made foods fortified with specific essential nutrients for specific targets (e.g. children, the elderly, pregnant women, etc.); the reformulation of specific fish varieties, for specific consumers' groups; validation of strategies to prevent contaminants from fish productions.
